Moved to Heaven
In my last post, I blogged about Jackson’s birthday party with the family. It was an early celebration because family was visiting from out of town. I said in the post that when Jackson turns 2 it was going to be a whole other post. I already had in my mind that I was going to talk about how grateful we were to have him and what a true celebration turning two was for, not only him, but our entire family. With all that he had been through in his first two months of life, we had made it to this point and we were grateful. Well, as only God can, he threw me for a complete loop and horrifically, I’m not talking about his birthday celebration today. On Saturday, April 20, 2013, one day shy of his second birthday, Jackson Gary Reese received his wings and...
Happy Early Birthday, Jackson!
Jackson turns two on April 21. That will be a whole other blog post, but when the Reese’s were here visiting last week, we celebrated his birthday along with Grandma’s. It’s hard living far away from family. I feel extremely blessed and fortunate that our families come to visit as often as they do, so it was extra special that we were able to celebrate Jackson’s birthday with them. Check out the spit coming from his mouth as he’s trying to blow out his candles!!
Spring Break Fun
Kate was on Spring Break this week and so were her cousins. So lucky for us, they came to visit from Michigan! Kate absolutely adores Morgan and Sydney! We had a busy, fun-filled week…I think the most fun we all had was in Chicago. We went to the American Girl store and Kate’s doll, Gracie, got her hair done 🙂
He Has Risen Indeed!
Easter was really fun this year. Kate actually got it. She understood the fact that while, yes, there is this thing called the Easter Bunny, there’s a deeper meaning behind this wonderful holiday. That Jesus died on the cross and rose from the dead. In church today, the congregation would say “He has risen indeed!” Kate was saying that a lot today. It was pretty cool. Don’t get me wrong, she’s five, so the whole Easter Bunny is a little more important to her. But I’m proud of her for learning something so important. Coloring Easter Eggs The egg hunt is on! I found one! I found one! Look what Mimz and Poppa got me…a blue bunny!! My two adorable love...
Palm Sunday is a day that Kate looks forward to all year. Not so much for the biblical meaning behind it but because our church hosts Palm Fest which includes a magician, lots of games, baby sheep and a huge Easter egg hunt! As a Southerner transplanted up North, I still find it quite comical that we have egg hunts in the snow! Mother Nature likes to mess with us 🙂
